2023 Review – My Year in Art!

Welcome to my review of 2023!

This year has definitely been my biggest year so far for Natalie Grace Art. It has been my first full year of actively pushing this as a side hussle and running it alongside my full time job. It's been the first full year of having a website, which has massively made a difference, and it is the first year I attended any art summer fairs, Christmas markets and art shows. Definitely made the most progress this year, and it's been amazing!

The drawings I have completed this year...

This year I have completed 7 commissions which consisted of 5 dogs, 3 people, 2 cats, and 1 cow. I also finished one portrait of my niece at the start of this year for her first birthday last year. Two of these commissions you haven't seen yet, one I am still currently finishing, and the other I will hopefully share with you in the New Year.

On top of these commissions, I also did my first market stand this year which was probably one of my most nerve racking things I have done! Not knowing whether you would have people interested in your stuff, whether people would stop or buy anything, or even how busy the event would be, was so difficult. But it was honestly one of the best things I've done! Meeting new faces, talking to you all about my work, and getting to put my name out there more into the public was great. And I have amazing family who took up their time to spend the days with me which made it so much easier.

And finally, another really exciting thing that happened for me this year is I got my first stockist! At the moment, I now have a few prints and some of my diaries at Gertie & Bertie in Honiton. I also have one more place confirmed to stock some of my cards and bookmarks but I am yet to drop off the products so I will share with you who that is in the New Year once I have sorted it. I can't wait!

My Goals For 2024...

Over the last 12 months, I did a lot of firsts. Over the next 12 months, I want to continue that! I have my first horse commission lined up at the start of next year, so I'm really looking forward to that. I had my first sale on my website, and I want to push my online shop further and get all my prints and products available to buy online (something I have been trying to do for a long time but I am bad at prioritising...)! I also did my first market stands and I want to continue doing those across the year, so I'm currently on the look out for various events to go to this year. And finally, I would like to challenge myself to enter some competitions this year! I have done competitions previously, but never entered any last year so I would definitely like to enter at least one.
