This is an A5 graphite pencil drawing of Fred & Jim, two black and white cats. coloured pencil commission of Florence, an English Setter. This was completed in October 2023 and took 15 hours to finish.

This portrait was quite a unique commission as it was commissioned by a lovely lady visiting from USA who was house sitting at a house with two cats. As a thank you for her hosts she wanted to leave this drawing as a present for their return from their holiday. This was a very new reason for a commission and I thought it was so lovely, I even got asked to post a little message with the finished drawing!

As an A5 drawing, this was my smallest commission I had completed at this time, it was the first time I had been commissioned to draw a cat, and it was also my first multiple subject pet portrait. This was a fun portrait to complete, but it was actually quite difficult as it was two full body cats on an A5 page, so the pencil marks were very small and it was tricky to get the detail in on this scale! In the end it turned out really well and I was pleased with, as was my client.
